What’s your perspective?

I’m sure that for some people, healing of any kind seems to them, to be, at the very least, a weird and wacky new age concept.

To those that are sceptical I would like to ask them, what did people do before modern medicine?

Healers have been around for thousands of years and are found on all continents.  They feel a great affinity to nature, work with it and would never wish to control it.  They use knowledge passed down to them, their intuition, meditation, herbs and much more.

I believe that in our modern society there is a great need for this ancient knowledge and wisdom enriched with all the new concepts that are evolving with time.

Many people have become detached from nature and spend most of their lives in buildings, cars, buses, trains and planes, rarely walking on anything other than carpet, concrete or tarmac.

We are bombarded by constant noise like the radio, television and traffic, which allows us little time for contemplation or reflection.

There are the endless worries, e.g. do I have enough, have I done enough, do I fit in and do I look the part?

Society has also encouraged us to seek advice from others in almost all aspects of our lives, which disempowers us and leads us to distrust our intuition to the extent that we rarely look within to sense how we feel.  If we do there are so many other people's opinions in our minds we even question what we are feeling e.g. is that how I feel or is it how I think I should feel?

Constantly seeking advice from others encourages a blame society, because if it goes wrong it’s someone else’s fault.  So we don’t accept responsibility for our actions and feel that we are victims of circumstance, which results in us imprinting and storing all these emotions within our body.  This puts an enormous strain on our body because we carry within it so much worry, fear, frustration, anger, guilt, regret, sorrow etc. This huge burden can hinder the normal function of our body and eventually damage it, which results in us becoming ill.

Working with a healer can help us identify and heal these issues, lightening the burden by giving us new tools and techniques to empower and heal ourselves.

Healing helps us relax and shows us how important relaxing is, it can help us understand the benefits of looking within, contemplation and reflection and how the beliefs and patterns we have adopted from others can rule our lives. Identifying these beliefs and patterns gives us the opportunity to change them.  It can help us to trust our intuition and understand how we truly feel, giving us the opportunity to act accordingly.  It can help us appreciate nature, its sounds, its beauty and how it can enrich our life.

We all have remarkable ability to heal ourselves, I’m sure most of us never question if a scratch or small cut will heal, we take it for granted that given time it will.  With the help of a healer we can lighten our burden, heal much more in our lives and therefore enjoy a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Modern society likes to group everyone into boxes and treat each group in the box as one.  We are all individuals and deserve to be treated as such, which leads me to hope you all take heed of a saying that is often banded about nowadays.
